Instructions Trailer Tr9 MkII
These building instructions make you build "Trailer Tr9” fully brick build motorized and Infra Red remote controlled scale model resembling an Australian log trailer with self steering suspension. Inspired by real life trailers this model has a ladder chassis which holds all components. This allows for a light weight design and so a load can be added for even more realism.
The trailer features: solid axle suspension on all axles plus a self steering mechanism, a kingpin, remotely controlled landing gear and parking break, remotely operated lock to enable easy reversing and many details.

Inspired by real life trailers this model has a ladder chassis which holds all components. Also does it get its power from the truck it is hooked up to. To connect and disconnect this semi-trailer to or from a semi-truck it has a landing gear. The trailer's front end can be raised or lowered to make it aligned with the tractor's fifth wheel. With the landing gear down the parking brake is engaged. Lifting the landing gear the parking break will be released.
It is proven to be impossible to back this trailer up because of the self steering suspension. In order to do so it has a steering lock mechanism. This mechanism locks the self steering suspension of the trailer so the axles are fixed.
Since it is a log trailer the model has so called bolsters or bunks. Those are the U shaped holders on top of the trailer’s chassis. Bolsters or bunks are evidently necessary to keep the logs in place.
The trailer’s features:
- solid axle suspension for smooth driving
- self steering mechanism for easy following
- remotely operated steering lock to enable reverse driving
- kingpin to connect with truck’s fifth wheel
- remotely controlled landing gear to support trailer
- realistic ladder chassis which holds all components
- bolsters or bunks to keep load in place
- remotely operated parking break for safe parking
